Technical and Medical
Welcome to the Technical and Medical section of the England Squash & Racketball website.
The maintenance of squash courts can be expensive if necessary repairs are not dealt with promptly. The TIS provide information, which will enable Club/Centre managers to recognise problems at an early stage, thereby minimising expenditure and maintaining their courts at a high standard for their players
The TIS contain valuable information on all aspects of squash court maintenance and refurbishment, including: flooring, lighting, heating, ventilation, glass back walls, court markings, coloured courts, building requirement, insulation, etc. Plus, the Lists of ESR Approved Contractors and Suppliers, safety instructions for court and player and a list of eye protectors certified for squash. All TIS can be downloaded.
The TIS also provide extensive information on the majority of problems that occur on a squash court, together with inspection programmes and itemised forms for recording repairs or major works carried out. Guidance is also given on various materials and systems that have been used in construction of courts over many years.
NB. For long standing Affiliated Clubs/Centres, please note, that the Squash Court Maintenance Manual, last distributed in 1997 and updated in 2007, has been replaced with the TIS on the England Squash & Racketball website.
