During 2008 we overhauled the referee assessment process to bring more consistency and quality to the way referees are assessed, mentored and supported with their learning and progression.
Some of our most senior referees have received specific training through the UKCC government backed courses and we now have a team of 6 qualified assessors to support, mentor and assess referees. The ESF are to follow England Squash & Racketball’s lead by following and implementing the same programme of education and instruction to European referees, therefore making this a collective change throughout Europe.
As of September 2008 all qualified referees have a role to play in assessing and supporting other referees and the following is a guide to the process now being adapted.
Senior Qualified UKCC Assessors
Able to assess any referee but their main responsibility will be to assess Tournament Grade referees to National Grade. National Grade referees, for the purpose of retaining their grade, must be assessed by a qualified UKCC assessor only.
National Grade Referees
Able to assess Provisional Grade to County Grade and County Grade to Tournament Grade. Qualified ES Staff Instructors and Instructors can also fulfil this role.
Tournaments Grade Referees
