Oxfordshire 20th October 2009
Abingdon Squash & Racketball Club –has been awarded the “Silver” Club Charter Award. Guy Tupper (Head Coach) is seen here receiving the award on behalf of the club.
Guy has worked “for several years” coaching and developing the juniors in Oxfordshire and he recently moved to Abingdon to take up his position of head coach.
“Working to achieve the Silver Charter was a useful exercise in itself in so much as it highlighted the areas where the club could choose to improve”, commented Guy. “We have plans to develop further and continue with both our playing and social programmes. I’m hopeful that we’ll soon be hosting another exhibition match as the one last year proved to be very popular”.
Guy’s keen to acknowledge the help he’s had from fellow members at the club. “The support I’ve received, since I joined the club has been invaluable. We have a pool of enthusiastic kids within the club and great “links” with some local primary schools – our future is looking good”.
So what’s next, more players, more teams, more racketball and then Gold Charter perhaps?
Congratulations to everyone at Abingdon!
