The Nine Telecoms Squash Legends was held recently at St. George’s Hill. It was a fantastic event, with some great matches. The final was contested between Jonathan Power and David Palmer, a repeat of many great finals. With all this history they were both still as competitive as ever and played the game at a great pace. The 2nd game was the most hotly contended, finishing 14-12 to Palmer in 40mins, with several disputed decisions. David Palmer went on to win 3-1 overall.
As well as the main tournament, the players also ran coaching clinics. A group of London & South East regional juniors went for a clinic, got some autographs and stayed to watch the squash. They had a great time learning from some of the legends of squash.
It’s great to have such a fantastic tournament at the lovely St. George’s Hill with its all glass court. The next event at St. George’s Hill is PSL on 2nd October.
