On Thursday 29th November, Breckland Leisure Centre in Thetford hosted a Parkwood Court Challenge Series. Each player was guaranteed three games with entries open to all.

Fourteen keen players from the area descended on the venue for four hours of top quality, fast paced, fun squash.

The ‘A’ Draw was run as a round robin. Eventually Paul Goodchild emerged victorious, becoming the proud owner of a new racket courtesy of ESR. He did not do so without a fight though and Dave Rutters finished as a very credible runner up. As the winner, Paul has been granted free entry into the National Finals of the Parkwood Court Challenge Series at Bicester Leisure Centre on Sunday 9th December.

The ‘B’ Draw was run as a series of round robins and playoffs. This was a much more hectic, fun series of games. Eventually Rocky Hughes prevailed, also winning a squash racket. The man instrumental in organising the event, Terry Albone, finished 2nd after a final that was played in the most jovial of spirits!

England Squash & Racketball would like to thank Breckland Leisure Centre for hosting the event, the players for participating and of course Terry Albone for his sterling work in organising the event.
