Silver Event 1 to kick start the new season!
The first Silver event of the 2013-14 season is nearly here. It is a split event, being held at venues in the North and South of the country, and it looks like they will be exceptional competitions. They will both be running from 30th August to the 1st September.
In the North of the country, Queens Club in Halifax will be playing host to 100 nationally ranked junior players, in the clubs first ever silver event.
In the South of the country, Luton & Dunstable and Berkhamsted Squash Clubs will be taking on nearly 140 of the country’s best junior players.
The age categories in both events range from both Girls and Boys under 13, up to under 19. Boys under 13, 15 and 17 categories will be 24 draws, whilst boys under 19 and all girls’ age categories will be 16 draws.
The Queen’s Club event will see top ranked players such as Harry Anderson in the boys under 13 and Curtis Malik who is currently ranked number 2 in the boys under 15, fighting it out to be winners of this great event. Sisters Lily and Mari Taylor will both be seeded top of their draws in the girls under 17 and 19 categories. Will there be 2 winners in that house hold by next Sunday?
Luton and Berkhamsted will see some big names also with top 10 nationally ranked players topping all of their age groups. Currently ranked number 1 in the Girls under 15’s, Lucy Turmel will have to get through number 3 seed Jasmine Hutton and up and coming young star Elise Lazarus if she wants to finish on top . Also fighting for wins in the respective age categories are talented players Jack Mitterer, Adam Corcoran, Matthew Broadberry and Joseph Green.
These prestigious clubs are geared up for what looks to be a great start to the new season, and let’s hope the competition is as fierce as it is set up to be.
